School Uniform Regulations

Girls

  • Blazers must be worn to and from school and to assembly.
  • Ties must be worn at all times.
  • Jerseys are optional.
  • Grey skirt and/or grey longs and/or grey shorts.
  • ONLY CHS rain jacket must be worn during Term 2 and 3. This must be worn over the school blazer. The rain jacket does not replace the school blazer.
  • Girls’ skirts must be just above the knee or longer.
  • Plain black beanies. No logos/no 'name brands'.
  • Short white socks or black pantihose worn with a skirt, and long grey socks/short white shocks to be worn with grey shorts.
  • Black school shoes.
Hair
  • Clean, neat and tidy at all times, no 'wet look' gel allowed.
  • Practical and suitable for school.
  • Should be tied back if it reaches the collar.
  • Keep clear of the eyes when working and playing sport.
  • No decorative shaved patterns or fashion statements are permitted e.g. shaved stripes and marked steps etc.
  • Hairstyles must be considerate of others.
  • Hair may not be coloured or highlighted.

Braids

  • Braids and corn rows must match natural hair colour.
  • Tied up, not half down/half up.

Top Knots

While permitted, must adhere to the following:

  • If hair is long enough, it has to be tied back.
  • Sides must not be completely shaved.
  • Side hair must be an acceptable length, at least a number 2.

Head Scarfs

  • To be worn by Muslim girls only. Optional. Head scarfs must be plain black, not patterns or sequins.
  • No headscarves are allowed for other students.

Earrings

  • Plain gold or silver stud (.5 size).
  • No nose rings.
  • No loop or teardrop earrings.
  • No jewellery, armbands or bracelets.
  • No make-up and no shiny or coloured lip gloss.
  • Nails to be short.
  • No nail polish or henna.

Accessories

  • Headbands, alice bands and ribbons must be black, no patterns.
  • Hair ties and clips must be black.
  • No hair jewellery allowed.

Boys

  • No earrings.
  • Nails to be short.
